RAF LeucharsRAF Leuchars Nomads Rugby Club

Leuchars Nomads Rugby Club are based in Leuchars Fife, near the town of St. Andrews.

We play Rugby Union and Rugby League against local teams, mainly on a 'friendly' basis. We engage in National Cup competitions in both codes achieving great success in recent years by winning 'The Warrington Morris' Shield & Halton Bomb playing Union and reaching the semi-finals in the Rugby League RAF Cup.

In recent years Leuchars Nomads have raised money to help both local and International charities. Within the last 6 years the club have raised in excess of £5000 for the Children's Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. We have also contributed/participated in local fundraising for the Crow's Nest Wheelchair Fund, RNLI and First Response.

Training

Rugby training will take place weekly at 1730hrs on a Monday and Thursday on the astro turf at RAF Leuchars. All players are to make an effort to attend. Should you have any difficulties please contact Boss Hogg via 'The Rugby Phone' on 07854 124647.

Rugby Fixtures

Leuchars Nomads RUFC mainly play their fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon, occasional Saturday fixtures can be arranged. If you would like to arrange a match please contact Tony Hetherington on 07854 124647.

Officers and Snco v Airmen rugby match

The Airmen of RAF Leuchars came to a victorious victory over the officers for a third year in a row,lead by our new Captain Mark Lushchan.

Final score 25-12 to the airmen.

An EGM was recently carried out on 6th March 2007 at the club with approximately 35 club members/players attending to have their say.
